Reviewed November 7, 2026. Original Facebook URL: https://www.facebook.com/share/p/19vCnNgbRN/?mibextid=wwXIfr

## Findings
- Confirmed historical discovery: Neil Loveless, July 2016, Last Chance Creek, Yukon. Not a new 2026 discovery.
- Published research: Current Biology, December 2020; DOI 10.1016/j.cub.2020.11.011. Full main text retrieved and reviewed.
- Geological age: radiocarbon >50,000 years; combined DNA and isotope inference approximately 56,000–57,000 years. Not an exact single radiocarbon result.
- Age at death: six–seven weeks, based on bone development under stated comparison assumptions. The paper records erupted baby teeth.
- Den collapse: supported reconstruction, not direct observation of instantaneous death.
- Diet: substantial aquatic contribution; freshwater resources or migratory salmon. Exact final meal/species not established by a recovered stomach meal in the paper.
- Genetics: ancient maternal lineage with Beringian/Russian affinities and regional population replacement; avoid claiming no relationship to modern wolves.
- Cultural context: Tr’ondëk Hwëch’in naming and respectful physical/spiritual care are substantive parts of the account.
- Nun Cho Ga: separate 2022 mammoth discovery; age quoted as the announcement's estimate, not a newly checked revised date.
- The Facebook collage was inspected but not republished or used to authenticate the specimen. The article uses an original, explicitly labelled chronology graphic.
- Reader comments, personal details, full third-party captures and unrelated adjacent stories are excluded from this public package.
- Direct Yukon.ca retrieval returned 403; the extraction service recovered the mammoth announcement and fossil-reporting guidance. The Zhùr release is explicitly an official archived 2020 document. Historical visitor hours and display status are not represented as current.
